As part of engaging youth in Chinatown, hua foundation was active in three distinct, and mutually supportive, aspects of Chinatown Summer Events:
- Chinatown Pop-up Markets, a summerlong public space activation initiative in the courtyard of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden that connected our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership with the neighbourhood. We also created spaces for small-scale culturally appropriate food vendors to test their products with the public;
- Creating the Community Public Events Asset Management Authority to support Chinatown Summer Events and future public space activations in the neighbourhood; and
- Providing administrative support for the Chinatown Summer Events series.
